      What really sets the timeline

Specialist business lenders in New Zealand can make a decision within hours. Whether money actually arrives today, this week or next month usually comes down to the file: linked bank statements, photo ID, a clear purpose, property details and, most of all, signatures from every director, owner and trustee who needs to sign. The finder shows which of those steps your route involves and which ones are still open.

It works to the same speed ranges lenders use. Same-day funding is possible for smaller unsecured amounts. With property security, $20k to $250k is possible same day, and up to $5m is possible within 24–48 hours, once the file is complete. Each missing piece pushes the estimate out, and the finder tells you roughly how far.

      How it picks a route

      • No property: the finder checks whether an unsecured loan is realistic, based on trading history, how current your GST returns and accounts are, and credit history. Unsecured lending typically tops out around $500,000.
      • Property available: it weighs the unsecured route against a caveat-style loan, a second mortgage or a first mortgage, and picks whichever is most likely to settle in time.
      • Very short deadlines favour the simplest structure: unsecured for smaller sums, a caveat-style loan or second mortgage for larger ones.
      • A new business, accounts that are behind or recent credit issues tilt the answer toward property, because property-backed lenders lean more on the security and the exit.

      An illustrative example

A Whanganui joinery firm needs $140,000 within a week to buy timber and hardware for a school classroom contract. It has traded for eight years, its GST returns are current but last year's accounts aren't finished, and the owners' home is held in a family trust with good equity. With nothing ticked as ready, the finder suggests a second mortgage with a timeline of a few working days, and lists linking statements, lining up the trustees to sign and gathering the property details. Tick those boxes and the estimate moves to same day possible.

      After the finder

Work through the checklist, then start your enquiry. For more on each stage, read how quickly a business loan can settle in New Zealand and what lenders check before fast funding. If you're weighing a faster loan against a cheaper, slower one, the real cost of a fast business loan shows how to compare them.

Want a person to check it?

Tell us the amount, the deadline and what's ready. There's no credit check to make an enquiry, and your details aren't fired off to a list of lenders. A real person reads it and calls you, usually within the hour during business hours. Please fill in the form accurately, because the more accurate it is, the faster we can move. Start your enquiry.

      Frequently asked questions

How does the funding speed finder work?

It weighs the amount, your deadline, whether property is available, how long you've traded, your paperwork and credit history, and how ready your file is. From that it suggests the route most likely to land in time and a realistic timeline for it.

      Is the timeline a promise?

No. It shows what's possible when a file is complete, using the same speed ranges lenders work to: same-day funding possible for smaller unsecured amounts, $20k to $250k possible same day with property, and up to $5m possible within 24–48 hours. Real files can take longer.

Does using it affect my credit file?

No. Nothing you enter is sent anywhere or stored. It runs entirely in your browser.

Why do the readiness boxes change the timeline so much?

Because most delays come from missing documents and people who aren't available to sign, not from lenders. Ticking them off is the quickest way to bring your timeline forward.

      Why doesn't it show rates?

Every business loan is priced on the business's circumstances, so any figure would be wrong for most people. The finder is about which route can land in time; cost comes next.

What if it says my deadline looks tight?

Look at the checklist it gives you. Often one or two items, like linking bank statements or lining up a co-director to sign, are the difference. A real person can also look at funding the most urgent part first.
