Sailboat on the Waitematā Harbour in front of Auckland city buildings on a clear day

How it works

How it works

Five steps between

See if you qualify →No credit check to enquire

Quick business funding comes from running the right steps side by side rather than one after another. Here's what happens once you enquire, and what you can do at each stage to keep things moving.

  1. 1

    1. Give us the amount and the date (about a minute)

What you need, what it's for, when you need it, a few questions about the business and whether property is available. No credit check to enquire.

  2. 2

    2. A real person calls, usually within the hour

During New Zealand business hours, someone who works on business lending every day calls to fill the gaps and agree the quickest realistic route.

  3. 3

    3. The file comes together

You link bank statements and send the handful of documents your route needs. For property-backed loans, the title search and valuation start the same day.

  4. 4

    4. Sign electronically

Every director, and every owner or trustee of any property involved, signs online with electronic ID checks. Property loans also need your lawyer's certificate. This is where most time is won or lost.

  5. 5

    5. Funds released

Money goes to your business account or straight to the supplier, IRD, the vendor or another lender. Same-day funding is possible for smaller unsecured amounts.

Choosing the route

On the first call we agree the route that fits your amount and deadline. For smaller sums and established businesses, it's usually an unsecured loan. For larger sums, newer businesses, accounts that are behind or credit issues, it's often a property-backed loan. If you'd like to see the likely route before you call, try the funding speed finder.

What we don't do

  • We don't publish interest rates or "from" figures.
  • We don't pass your details around a panel of lenders.
  • We don't promise speed we can't deliver. If your deadline isn't realistic, we'll say so and look at what part can be funded first.

Common questions

Does asking affect my credit file?

No. There's no credit check when you first enquire. A check only comes up once you've chosen to go ahead with a specific option.

Will my details go to lots of lenders?

No. One person works on your enquiry and approaches the lender most likely to fund it in time. Your details aren't spread across a list of lenders.

What should I have ready?

Online banking access so statements can be linked, photo ID for every director, your NZBN, a quote, invoice or IRD statement for the purpose, and property details if property is involved.

Why does accuracy on the form matter?

Because the first route depends on it. If turnover, debts or property details are off, time is lost starting again. Accurate answers are the biggest single thing that keeps funding quick.

Can funds be paid straight to IRD or a supplier?

Yes. Paying IRD, a supplier, a vendor or another lender directly at settlement is common and often speeds things up.

Ready? Start your enquiry and fill in the form as accurately as you can.
